Burnt sienna to the eye, 25% opaque. A touch of stink on the nose, and not much else. Modest texture, with lots of tobacco on the palate; full of dates and walnuts. Big palate presence, with plenty of layers. Lovely sweetness and elegance. Big aftertaste, full volume finish. This is a very impressive port with great concentration of flavour and balance. Served blind this was guessed to be Taylor 1970. 94/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
