In The Bung Hole, on Wednesday 6th June 2012, we said farewell to everybody’s favourite French-Armenian waitress.

Deep red, 80% opaque; appearing to be in the early stages of maturity. Smelly on the nose, dirty - perhaps with some bottle stink or VA. Smells of bruised cherries. Dry entry, with the fruit hidden but the wine is very sharp and sour with too much acidity. Work and air does release some red cherry fruit and it is the fruit that dominates the long finish. This is a disjointed bottle that has not shown the wine at its best. 81/100. 11 hour decant.

Mz85, brought by DRT, decanted 8am. Red, 70% opaque. My first glass had bottle stink, repaired with a fresh glass. Then the nose had red and black cherries. Big size on entry, with plum, but mid- and late-palate wrong, rough and bitter. We thought a partly damaged bottle.
