On the Wednesday before the 2012 Olympics we were guests of His Excellency Dr João de Vallera, the Portuguese Ambassador to the Court of St James, at his official residence, wherein we had two bottles of Port from each summer-Olympic year, 1948 to 2008.

Really velvety, thick, plush, chocolatey. Big tannins, huge acidity, great port.
Hopefully i can track some of this down **** (91+)

QVA08 (mine): red-purple, almost 100% opaque. Nose loverly soft balanced fruit. taste has good size, heat mid-palate. Great length. Plum, no berries. Some grittiness mid-palate. I really like the flavour. RAYC: ‟plush and velvety”.
