2000 Sandeman Vau

Post by jdaw1 »

2000 Sandeman Vau, half bottle
SV00, ⅜L, at d+10 minutes. Lovely red-purple, slightly less purple and less opaque than the double magnum tasted against it. Let’s say 85%, rather than 90%. Good nose, purple fruit, including dark cherries, and maybe a dark berry. Taste with the same fruit as the nose, though dominated by dryness from mid- to late-palate. Good length. This half bottle promises to be satisfactory drinking, if lacking in quantity.

Photographs and updates to follow.

SV00 from 37½cl, at about d+4hr (so after some champagne), and from the same glass so much aired: a hint of floral in the nose. Still a good palate, though a hint drier. Some cranberry tartness, medium weight, red cherry, middle length. Still satisfactory drinking.
