I will book the venue.
However, I request that we relocate our meeting on Feb 26. After Helen had advised us that TBH
could not accommodate us on Feb 15, I booked a table at Davy's at Canary Wharf
, which is managed by Ian Wright - the former manager of The Crusting Pipe
back in the days when it welcomed regulars and was run by a man who loved his port.
Helen then called me late this afternoon to say that she had been able to juggle things around, call in a favour and freed up the private room for our use on Feb 15th.
A little embarrased by the lengths that Helen must have gone to to help us out, I would like to accept her offer of the room on the 15th but also want to be fair to Ian.
So, I would like to suggest that on Feb 15th we meet at the Bung Hole and on Feb 26 we meet at Davy's at Canary Wharf.
Top Ports in 2021: Niepoort Garrafeira 1931; Niepoort VV (1960s bottling) and Cockburn 1969 Single Harvest Tawny
Top Port in 2022 so far: the most stunning bottle of Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port.
