2000 Chateau Palmer, Margaux

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

53% cabernet sauvignon, 47% merlot. Deep red with all hints of purple gone, 80% opaque. Restrained nose, perfumed and delicate with gentle cedar. Gorgeous texture, satin smooth, elegant and balanced. The palate presence grows with patience with the tannins always firm but balanced by mature fruit and cedar wood. Big aftertaste, with a burst of citrus then a long and profound finish. Very refined and elegant. One to drink now or in a decade or two. 94/100.
