Lovely stuff - bought my brother a bottle of it a few years back. Amrut means 'nectar' (and my mum's name was Amrita, from the same root). Very peaty; the first really good Indian whisky I ever tried.PhilW wrote:Also saw this very recently at an Indian restaurant! Though I wasn't in a position to try it at the time, I noted the very high ABV even for a cask-strength and thought "probably gimmick", but the reviews on masterofmalt.com seem pretty positive; I may have to try just to see.
The description mentions "tarry" and the TNs at the bottom mention peat.djewesbury wrote:I notice no mention of peatiness in the link posted - so perhaps ours was an earlier style since discarded / revised.
