30% opacity, tobacco yellow brown. Lots of sediment. On the nose, diesel, sickly sweet resin, pungent, tea. Didn't note the taste, think it was a bit confusing.

Bottled 1992. Cloudy appearance, with a hint of green on the rim. Rubber bands on the nose with unpleasant treacle or black syrup. Good acidity on the palate but little flavour other than some vague honey and - surprisingly - lots of tannin. Not great on the palate. Bitter grapefruit skin on the finish. 81/100. Decanted 8½ hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

A dirty, woody brown, with lots of sediment; but not murky. This had a sharp, woody pungency, and was decidedly resinous.
