Just three of us, CPR, THRA and JDAW, met in the Green Room of The Boot & Flogger for a tasting with the theme ‘Blind with a clue’.

A splendid little evening, in which we had four good bottles of Port. The manageress of the B&F, Kasha, nobly agreed to tie-break the voting (without knowing the prior scores), propelling my favourite — Tom’s D60 into the lead. We drank and ate well and comfortably.

Having cleared plates and bottles and glasses, we repaired upstairs for a top-up glass of Ch94, about which I took no note.

A most enjoyable evening with good port and company, even if my guesses were more errant than usual. My wine of the night was the SW 77 which was very good.
