Oh God please don't say it's going to Derek's holiday home on the bleak and empty Isle of Skye!

That's a relief. It may survive its journey.
Apparently, the eagle has landed.
Indeed.
Hopefully Mum won't put it in the airing cupboard beside the hot water tank to keep it safe.

A shame, but neither costs nor problem.

I have asked how the steak is to be cooked but so far no reply. Please default to "medium rare" if no further instruction received.

I'm now likely to be around for this..
Could bring something from Charles' birth year, or when she got married, or bottled in the year she was born - or something else entirely.... ??

A nice compromise - her birth year ports are quite hard to come by these days

How about this one:
Very pale green glass bottle, colour of wine within good for age and looks healthy with lumpy free floating sediment, level TS
Label reads 'Offley full port, matured, rather dry'
Old slip label round neck reads 'Anno 1924'
A reciprocal gift from Simon Lisle in the early days of TPF - whatever became of him??

Good news. Mother in law will be around so social conflict with wife resolved. More good news-I seem to have 3 bottles of Dow 60 in my new cellar so one of them will have its stay cut short!
Food: truffle Mac & cheese followed by gammon with black pudding please.
Thank you.

Excellent. We have a Dow-1960-versus-Dow-1960 head-to-head. And obvious updates to the placemats done.

Excellent. Obvious updates to
the food order done. To which I have also added a guess that Tom will have soup and medium-rare steak.

We are Mr and Mrs Efficiency. With twelve days to go we have — or I have guessed — all the food orders bar one.
WS1 wrote: french fries
I’ve interpreted this to mean skinny fries rather than the hand-cut chips. Please confirm.

- beetroot salad starter
- sirloin rare for main
I hope to be on time but may be 30 mins late (flight arrives at Heathrow 16.30). In terms of port, I need to speak to Wolfgang to see whether i have any nice bottles lurking in his cellar (and whether he would be willing to open / decant / bring for me....)
