Doty in London - Get it while it's hot

Post by Chris Doty »

In town until the morning of June 5.

Happy to share bottles blind anytime of day between now and then.

Shall we pencil in Wednesday evening, say 7:30?

Looking forward to catching up

Chris,

this is really sad and I do not know what it is but we are missing each other again since I cannot do Wednesday. Hope next time we have more luck.

Wednesday works for me. When and where (but after 6.30pm)? Shall we use the Boot & Flogger?

Tue: WPS + JDAW;
Wed: AHB + JDAW.

Plus ‘Woo Woo’ himself, the unbelievable Mr Doty — who is to choose. Ideally, soon.

I'm in London overnight on Wednesday night anyway so if woo-woo is up for it there is no reason why both should not happen.

Unfortunately I am now no longer available until about 8.30pm and will have eaten when I arrive.

CSD - if you want a nightcap on Wednesday evening then let me know.

What is now happening? Has Woo-Woo chickened out? Or has he fallen back into his habits soaking his suit with Port and is currently running around London as the soggy Doty!

Please let me know what is the status?

I have emailed and messaged, for this purpose, but to no avail. The answer so far is that nobody knows.

Sadly, unable to make this as already up in Town on another engagement tonight (at the Sign of the Don as it happens) and two 'outs' in any one week (certainly at this short notice) is generally a no no. Not sure I have the capacity to compete with CD and JDAW either!

It’s too late for me today.

Woo-woo: starting such a thread is excellent. But having fathered such a beast, please don’t abandon it.

Wednesday chaps, Wednesday .

I appreciate all the enthusiasm , but tonight could only work if late (9:30+)

Tomorrow works anytime after 3, but I expect dinner at a reasonable venue (possibly The Portland) at 7:30

Would love to see you there , sorry for any scheduling confusion

My fault. Very silly of me. I misinterpreted

to mean that you could share bottles any time between when you posted and the morning of Friday 5th June. Which I thought might include the evening of Tuesday 2nd June.

Tomorrow then, Wednesday 3rd June.

The organisation of this tasting is perhaps the most fluid we have seen here on :tpf:

I wonder which of the fifty seven "Portland" restaurants/hotels in London our merry band will meet up in?

I just need to know where to be when I finish my work engagements.

Should I declare what I am bringing? Am I sharing it with anyone other than JDAW?
