As there have been no posts for 111 days, this is a gentle reminder that the 1994 horizontal is still scheduled for 114 days hence, being Tuesday 16th November 2021.

Re: VE (etc) Day Tasting - Weds 8 Sept 2021

Date now Wednesday 8th September 2021 in one of the private dining rooms at 67 Pall Mall. Have booked for ten people, so there is at one space still available. If not, happy to start a reserve list. Yes please. (From an anniversary perspective, the 8th September 2021 is (according to Wikipedia) the...

Its fair value might be a bit more than a tenner. Barely worth posting it to a purchaser.

Advice: hold it until a suitable anniversary, and then drink it with those dear to you.

but as I don't pour them all together You have asked for advice. Perhaps more important than the ordering: have enough glasses = number people × number wines + a few spares. And pour them all together, so that you can compare and contrast and go back and argue and change your mind and reconsider. A...

Most of your argument sounds like NIHEIIIF. Not Invented Here, Especially If Invented In France.
The score is one-all. The French thoroughly won the battle of the numbers (the universe itself is measured in m³ kg⁻¹ s⁻²) but we thoroughly won the battle of the words (English is the new Latin).

Royal Mail has recently been slow about deliveries to me. Please PM my invitation.    ;–) I expect the weakest and lightest will be the ’82, so that first. Having started with vintage continue with that: next the ’55, then the ’94. Finally the two wood-aged, but I have no opinion about which way rou...

Re: Port myths and their truth

There are two separate questions here. How dense should the measures be? Apart by a factor of 2? By a factor of √2 ≈ 1.4142? By ∜2 ≈ 1.1892? But the more measures there are, the more different wine-rack sizes are needed. Hence I want fewer measures: a factor of 2 seems sensible. Maybe, at most, φ ≡ ...

Hello, and welcome.

Before we can meet properly, do join us online for tastings. They aren’t as good as the real thing, but they are still worthwhile.

Where are you? Will London tastings be convenient for you?

Apologies: another error by me. I promised, but am now unable to find, 1980 Taylor. Substituting with a Noval Nacional, in the expectation that there will be less protest than there was about the food order.

Alas, the menu has been degammoned.

And if I am the cause of the broader disaster, I can offer only humble apologies.

Please update status of this tasting.

For placemats, what bottles are coming, and brought by whom? I have promised Taylor, but might have access to others.

We should do a food order (menu). For me, please, starter = Duck liver pâté; experimental main = Beyond Meat vegan burger.
