Re: Tue 15 Dec 2015, B&F, 1975 Horizontal
Shame on you who attended! The only tasting notes to be seen are the one word notes that I took while decanting some of the bottles plus Simon's one line note on his favourite port. Where are the notes which will help us and others in the future to decide whether to buy 1975 vintage ports and, if s...

Re: Port for sale at auction
Or if anyone would be interested in a case sampling @ £150 per person then this sale would also be an interesting opportunity... Are you seriously suggesting that we should open an entire case of F63 between 12 people on a single evening? Splendid - I'm in! Any updates on this wonderful idea? If it...

Is it disloyal to suggest that we watch thinking it could be the last one...and wondering who will make the next...and what kind of feverish releases will occur in the world of the shippers?... Yes I hear you cry, disloyal indeed!

Merry Christmas to all on the forum
Admins may move this to meaningless drivel, but the sentiment is not meaningless, so I shall start it here. I would like to wish all of the :tpf: a very merry Christmas and a wonderful new year. I have very much enjoyed my short membership so far, and look forward to more tastings and meeting more o...

Re: Emergency, Monday 4th January 2016
Monday it is! Are we doing blind bottles for the evening or any theme? Either way, I am happy starting at anytime that works for you Mr Wiseman. I will drop some port off at the B&F on route. A tasting 4 days in!...just the following 362 days in 2016 to plan for now.

Re: Tue 15 Dec 2015, B&F, 1975 Horizontal
Huge thanks to Tom for a great horizontal of the 75s. Thanks too for all the bottles supplied by Tom... and also to Ian, Tony, and Wolfgang for their bottles too. I enjoyed the 75s more than the recent 85 horizontal, but I think the 85s in 10 to 15 yrs will show some great ports. A well deserved WOT...

Hi Louise,
A quick note to thank you for the port. They were all as described and have gone to a good home...to be enjoyed with fellow members at future meetings.
All the best and have a good Christmas.

Having looked through the posts, I don't think you are missing anyone unless you or Wolfgang are bring a guest that isn't listed.
The only question mark is Daniel who has stated that it maybe unlikely he can attend...
Daniel - can you confirm?

I thought there was going to be a Sandeman as well from various posts? But not to worry. Mike - I will see you there around 4pm and shall be there earlier in case. Tom - Are some of the 75s already at the B&F or what time will you be arriving with all the juice? All this planning has made me thi...

I am happy to set it up, but bear in mind this is only my second 'large' tasting after two emergencies. That said, I think I got the idea having helped at the 85 horizontal so... No problem. Therefore, I just need a few bits of info... Tom - Are the bottles at the Boot, and if not what time will the...

Hi Julian,
Has Tom mentioned the bonus bottle for the placemats that I am bringing along with his approval? It will be a Niepoort 1957 colheita that I hope will show well, especially given one of the attendees!
Hope that won't cause you much more admin.

Richard Mayson's Top 20 Ports for Christmas
See the attached link for RM's Christmas picks. Some very high scores indeed. I enjoy the warre's Otima 10yr old but not sure it is a 93 pointer... Or better than a Fonseca 85!?

Hi Lukas,
If you don't find a taker for the lot, I would potentially be interested in the bottle of Vesuvio Capela 2011 you listed.
I will drop you a private message.
Cheers,
Simon

There was a feature on this on the UK Wine Show podcast a couple of weeks ago, and my understanding is the pricing is indeed 'fantastic' in the truest sense, and would be an abomination to my bank account! Very clever though, and useful if you want to drink a great old port without the need to pre-p...
