Re: Anyone interested in a Six Grapes Tasting?

I am guessing this tasting will be pre-summer. If it doesn’t happen for any reason until the autumn I would hope to be able to attend and have a Tappit Hen of the standard Six Grapes which I would be happy to throw into the mix.

Re: Latest buy

Not had a stella GM79 yet but hopefully they will be good.

However, the Mackenzie 55 is normally another very yummy Port! It would make for a good tasting alongside the FG76… possibly with a Dow 80 added to provide the Baga team, to go against another 55/76/80 trio. 😀

Highly doubtful I will be able to make any dates in May or the near future so could I please be taken off the list and free up a spot.

Glenn maybe able to advise but I believe the US seems to get the years we don’t. I think 2005/6 were released the other side of the pond… but may have misremembered that.

Re: Hotel or Restaurant Price List of the Week

I thought the 2016 Bioma to be stunning but a very different style to all the others. To take a French wine analogy all the other 2016s I tasted were a Bordeaux style, while the Bioma was Burgundy like. Very different… unique and lovely!

Re: UK Government Cellar List

I am a big fan of English wines but I think it is a worry if we try and impress others as to the quality of our home wines with Chapel Down Bacchus.

Re: Port for sale by retailer

I got everything I asked for from Harvey Nicks. Very happy. Were you the buyer of the 1940 Graham? If so, I am delighted it went to someone who will love the wine. Was there just one on offer? I thought Neil gave a nod and a wink on the 1940… and George filled up on some port as well as some fine U...

Have tasted it 3 times but not since 2018. My impression for what it is worth is that it is quite tannic and will last a long time… so 2053+ although I hope to enjoy one on my 80th in 2052 😃 🙏

Re: Voting now open - TPF awards ceremony - 7th February 2022

Reluctantly it looks like I need to bow out of this auspicious occasion. It was 50/50 but is now complicated by the landslide on the tracks in Basingstoke meaning no direct trains from Weymouth to London and a significant reduction in services. I hope the spot gets filled but if there is still space...

Some bottles for sale

Due to some bills and not being open for a while I need to liquidate some stock that I can’t justify holding onto to drink in the current climate. The prices are beneath the going rate but reflect what I need to try and get to make it a worth while exercise. Not sure if there will be any interest fr...

Provisionally yes please. Have no magnums so will need to contribute either a bottle or funds. Need to check which dates in Feb I can definitely do and hope they align with what the RMT allows!
