Two half bottles of Croft (possibly 1960) from a charity sale at Corney & Barrow.
One low shoulder & one base of neck.
Already opened the low shoulder bottle & it was still pretty good.

Mystery solved.
Just opened a bottle to start the Christmas festivities and the cork is clearly branded "Sworder London EC4".
Will post a tasting note eventually...

Graham's, CLWS, 5th December 2018
Central London Wine Society Tasting of Graham's Port, at the Civil Service Club, Wednesday 5th December 2018 Presented by Paul Mapplebeck NV Crusted (bottled 2011) - scored 3.9/7 (scores are the average of the 20+ attendees) I only scored this 2/7 - bit too hot with a slightly bitter aftertaste. 200...

Re: Sandeman 1942 - another question...
Lunch today with the Mackenzie 48 & Delaforce 58.
I thought both were very good, but popular vote was for the Delaforce. M very medicinal.
Both bottles around base of neck, so pretty good for age.

Ferreira 45, Tuke Holdsworth 47, Mackenzie 48, Boa Vista 50 and Delaforce 58. I’m impressed. Came via a "special" Corney & Barrow offer. They were from the estate of a client who had passed away. In theory all of the bottles were below the standard C&B would normally sell - ie, lo...

The image quality is pretty poor, but I can't upload a better image due to the graphics size limit. Could email you the full image if you want?

From the same source, also acquired a stock of Ferreira 45, Tuke Holdsworth 47, Mackenzie 48, Boa Vista 50 and Delaforce 58. Given they're all quite rare I might arrange a tasting in early 2019 if there's sufficient interest...
Venue would probably be 67 Pall Mall.

Sandeman 1942 - another question...
From a different source to the Warre 1963 I've asked about, recently obtained three bottles of Sandeman 1942.
There isn't a tasting note on TPF, and I can't find anything recent elsewhere. Does anybody know anything about this wine?

Warre 1963 Question
I've just acquired a small parcel of Warre 1963 which has a quite distinctive four-leaf clover (?) design embossed in the foil (photo below).
Does anybody know if this indicates a particular bottler?

Re: Bottle Watch
I've still got a couple of bottles of Rebello Valente 1972 from a whole unopened case I "won" at Christies some years ago.
Haven't got any TNs, but the bottles were all in perfect condition and from memory the contents were pretty good.

This was released by the Symington toward the end of 2016 and is (supposedly) the final release from their stocks. Therefore hoping it's in perfect condition...
Will post a tasting note.

2012 Niepoort LBV
Bottled 2016, half bottle with "proper" driven cork. A gift from one of the sommeliers at the Rex Whistler restaurant at Tate Britain, but appears to be currently retailing around £20 for a 75cl bottle. Pleasant nose, with good body and evident tannin. Slightly spirity finish, but overall ...

If anybody's interested & hasn't seen this, the latest release of the Taylor's "Very Old Single Harvest Port" - the 1967 is now available (follows previous 64, 65 & 66 releases).
BI Wines are punting it out at £380/3ib or £740/6ib. C&B were similarly priced.
