This is now only a few weeks away, so now need to start considering the food order. Please let me know what you want. Also, I can confirm that the per head cost (based on 10 attendees) for the 12 bottles is £250.88 - so £250! To keep things simple on the night, we'll settle the food bill separately....
Wouldn’t hurt to do a 2003 horizontal now that it has reached 21 years of age. Indeed, though I've only just taken my first 94 case from storage, so if others are in a similar position I suspect we might not have convenient access to many yet. Good point! Maybe we pencil something in for 2025 and g...

Yes, please. A fascinating theme. I have 1970 and 1994 Dow as well as 1994 Graham. None of it was released in 2021 nor did it repose in (or presumably under) Blenheim Palace.
You're first reserve. Suspect I won't be using my "guest" spot, so you'll probably get a place at the table.

A just delivered auction purchase (£24.50 all in)... Bottle.JPG Label.JPG It's only a half, and level is just below the neck, but colour doesn't appear to be too bad. From checking the Mutuals Public Register it appears that the Wine Society were at Holles Street between August 1929 and October 1940...
The list of attendees has been updated and all have confirmed attendance. This is going to stay as 10 heads, but there are currently two reserves (Axel & Ralph) should anyone drop out. To maintain a sensible bottles/head ratio I've decided that we'll just stick to the Taylor bottles and skip the...
Further to a discussion at the recent 1994 Horizontal, I propose a tasting to compare the 2021 releases of the 1994 Warre/Dow/Graham and "original" releases, AND a comparison of the Blenheim Palace 1970s with other good examples. Full details to be developed... Red Room at The Boot and Flo...
30%+ opaque, with some definite brown showing. Nose wasn't quite right - possibly a bacteriological issue (although this faded with time in the glass). Palate better, but not much. Not nice. 3/7.
