Paling red, orange rim. Nose has a bit of eucalyptus. Palate has oranges. Rather attractive but definitely fading.

Not Private Cellar, but Harry's bottle. A lovely deep red. Full of life and bright fruit. This is belting bottle of a really good port.

Deep dark colour (as they all were bar the Graham and the Vale Meao). Nose developing nicely. Lovely wine with gobs of fruit but distinctly unready. I like it a lot, as did the group, but I'll leave it for a couple of decades.

Dumb nose at first, which developed a little, later. Brutal palate, and fiercely dry. Shut down hard.

Rubbery nose. Nice rich fruit. Thick and chocolatey with a ginger pudding note. Imperfect in this company.

Rich and rather lovely for drinking now. If you were thirsty, you could probably drink quite a lot of it. A little warm, late. Very enjoyable.

My first encounter with 2011 Quarles Harris. A happy encounter too. Lovely nose of bramble not blackcurrant. Palate full of lovely fruit. Got an HM from me (and another).

Fabulous perfume. Big rich palate with enormous depth, and depths. The tannins are firm but ripe. Astonishingly good port. I will be dead before it reaches its summit, but I look forward to opening and drinking the occasional bottle too early. WOTN by a country mile.

Big rich soft sweet port. Nice drinking but on this showing wil not make old bones. There was speculation that this bottle might be a bit sub-par. A resounding zero points, which I would have bet quite heavily against.

Big grapey nose. But not as pretty as this house usually is on the palate. A bit disappointing. I think this had shut down hard.
