Oh, nice. I've stayed there once. It's really quite nice, and not at all expensive!

Re: Christmas present Port

Alas, no. I think most people in my life either haven't yet realised that wine is a nice gift they can get me or feel intimidated and are afraid to give me the 'wrong' wine (whatever that is).

Re: Festive Drinking 2024

Just some mid to heavyweight Portuguese whites and reds (Guru Douro white, Vinhas da Ira Alentejo red, Quinta da Gaivota Douro red), along with a Val da Figueira 10yo and a Kopke 30yo.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

Re: Festive Drinking 2024

I'd say open the St Julien. Then take the Shiraz and gift it to some needy orphans who don't know any better (sorry, I'm really not into Syrah/Shiraz).

We kicked off on Friday with some friends round for dinner. We opened a bottle of Messias Bruto Barraida Espumante 2019, Messias Reserva Branco Barraida DOC 2017, Messias Reserva Tinto Barraida DOC 2015 (100% Baga, I believe), Messias 1963 Colheita (bottled 1983), Kopke 1963 Colheita (bottled 2023)...

Re: Thursday 27th March 2025 - Virtual Tasting

Yes, please.

(For now) I only have Graham 17 that fits that particular theme. If we widen it to all SFE and TFP LBVs then I have Warre 07/08/09, Cockburn 15, Dow 16, and Fonseca 18.
