Port at Vinum Fine Wines
Hi everyone. As some of you know, I work for London based merchant Vinum Fine Wines. We’re mostly specialising in wines, however, occasionally we have some great stuff in ports as well, which I’ll post here. If you are looking for something specific, don’t hesitate to contact me directly and I’ll se...

Hi guys,
Could you please let Glenn know your options? So that gives a bit more time in case people still need to buy bottles?
Thank you,
Nelly

Re: Topic WHITE aged ports, Tue 17th May 2022
The topic has been mentioned, but I do not see a definitive decision. Since there are 14 attendees, I assume that Ports brought in 500 ml bottles shall require 2 bottles? 35 ml servings (500 / 14) seem insufficient. I agree with your view, but the final decision should be Nelly’s. well, guys, I gue...

Re: Topic WHITE aged ports, Tue 17th May 2022
That works, subject to confirmation by Nelly. Yet another possible solution: adoption. If someone is willing to bring multiple bottles, and someone else needs a bottle to make theirs unique, I can broker that pairing. I will also provide a tasting order once I have the list curated so that someone ...

Re: Tue 03 May 2022, Crusted, B&F
Inspired by the whites tasting organised by recent member Nelly , would there be interest in a theme of Crusted? I say blind. Bottles can young or old, cheap or expensive, single or magnum, but they must be of sediment-throwing red Port that isn’t quite Vintage. It’s so nice to hear that I’ve inspi...

Re: Topic WHITE aged ports, Tue 17th May 2022
Some want blind. Some want sighted. Organiser’s choice. Perhaps the organiser to ask Glenn to do something. We each inform Glenn of what we could bring, and he then selects so as to minimise duplicates. (Nelly: FYI, Glenn lives in Sammamish , Washington State. He won’t be coming to London just for ...

Re: Topic WHITE aged ports, Tue 17th May 2022
Hahaha, the theme took me somewhat by surprise, but in a good way. I have just checked my cellar, and I'm not at all surprised to find I have exactly no suitable White aged Ports. We drank the Quevedo 30 just before Christmas (it was lovely) and just like that, the cellar was dry. That isn't quite ...

Ahahaha, guys, you are so funny! It was meant to be destructive right from the start that it’s organised by a woman )))
I’m happy to see you puzzled and having a discussion, I welcome opinions from the rest on preferences (blind/open).

We prefer blind, despite the risks to our credibility.

Hello, gentlemen! (and maybe other ladies?) Firstly, I’d like to thank you for including me in your wonderful community! And what could be a better way to prove my allegiance than to organise a tasting in that gap that you’ve identified! How does May 17th work for you? The theme TBC, but I’ll get so...
