Re: A short goodbye.
If I recall correctly, Graham 1985 is your favourite Port. I shall take a bottle with me when we get together next week so we can think on your advice and salute your contribution to the forum. Thank you Andy, and for your patience in finding a way to eventually get together to get Glenn’s Port to ...

Re: A short goodbye.
So very sorry to hear this, Andy. Thank you for letting us know, and may the rest of your days be as peaceful and comfortable as possible, and surrounded by friends and family. I will definitely think of you every time I open a 1970 or 1945 Graham! I am truly grateful that that 45 Graham went somew...

Thank you for sharing this tough news, which I’m surprised and sad to learn, and which likely wasn’t easy to write. We will drink to your best-possible comfort. Oh damn. I am so sorry. Thank you for letting us know. I will open some Fonseca 1992, and say 'ave atque vale'. Having an end of life part...

Re: A short goodbye.
Andy, we don't know each other, but nonetheless, that's terribly sad news to read. That must have been very difficult to write and I applaud your courage. I hope you find peace and comfort in your family over the next few months. God bless. Many thanks Mike, I'm in a good place, 59 is no age but ap...

A short goodbye.
Ladies and gentlemen (terms used advisedly), I just wanted say a short goodbye from one of the more silent partners of this wonderful forum. Long story short, end stage pancreatic cancer, 2-6 months. This is just a quick thank you for your humour, your knowledge, your experience, your patience and t...

When does a taste become an interest?
When does an interest become a hobby?
When does a hobby become a collection?
When does a collection become an obsession?
I think I'm a hobby/collector but may be in denial.

1 x Calem 40 year old tawny at auction (will make a nice gift to give someone). 11 x Bomfim 2013 at Asda for £22 each (will make a nice mention in my will as I don’t think I’ll live long enough to drink it). Thanks for the tip, indulged in half a dozen myself. As for leaving it in your will, tish p...

Re: Latest buy
Andy, that’s a fantastic price (fully paid up, probably less than release price, I think) for a great port, arguably one of the two stars of the vintage, and starting to drink beautifully now. Indeed, admit I was a little surprised at the lack of bids, 100 per 4 was below the reserve but there have...

Re: Latest buy
Bottle looks like mid to late 1950’s to early 60’s, perhaps. Label appears to say …many years in cask. But no reference to actual age or year. However a good chunk of label is missing. Without actual documentation, would be hard to verify it was actually 1900 Colheita. Labeling wasn’t always very c...

Re: Latest buy
I have just purchased the following bottle at auction ( online but not collected yet). I know little about old tawny port, it was listed as a Gilbey 1900 and cost the princely sum of ten pounds plus fees. Can anyone enlighten me as to this port. Thanks They used a t-cork to seal it. Can you post be...

Grahams 85
I am on the hunt for a small quantity of G85, maybe just a half case and on the advice of AHB, am asking here. If anyone has some that they would be prepared to part with for a reasonable price, please get in touch. Regards Andy
