3 bottles of the 70's

Hi everyone. First of all - I can happily say there will be a new port wine book published soon - The Port•ologist just hit the 100% funding mark! Secondly - I have 3 bottles to offer. They are in good condition (no leakage). I have just these 3 bottels (in the UK) and they are happy to find a new o...

Re: A new book about Port

For those interested... So, signed up for further info about this, and got the Kickstarter pitch when it was released yesterday. Was going to order the book for a very reasonable £19, but decided against it when a £30 delivery charge was added. Shame. Hi - great news! We have our new pre-launch pag...

Re: 1963 Douro Wine Shippers and Growers Association

Hi all! Thanks for the input - much appreciated. Happy to see that we all can appraise the wines differently. Of course, as a seller we are looking for the sweet spot in price. Retail prices are not what we are looking for. If there are any buyers here - I am happy to discuss terms. Otherwise we wil...

Re: 1963 Douro Wine Shippers and Growers Association

$80 for a 1963 is not very flattering. No it's not. I think this wine is appraised quite good and the bottles are in great condition. I believe 250 EUR sound more like the right direction for a bottle of 60+ years of age. Hopefully they can be bought and enjoyed by the right buyer. I'm not ...

A new book about Port

For those interested – With traditional ports struggling to captivate a wide audience and younger wine enthusiasts lacking familiarity or interest in port wines, I wanted to find a way to make these wines more accessible and rejuvenate the community of port lovers. While I wasn’t the first to recogn...

Thats great info! thanks :) My kid is not even 2 yo so I'll be sipping it on another occasion then :) Looking forward to open it. Ps- did you need to use port thongs or was the cork perfectly fine? If you're looking for 1984 Ports in particular, keep an eye out for the Graham's Malvedos. It's quite...

Finally! I found a bottle of 1984 Vintage Port from Messias on Auction.
Hopefully I will be able to open it with my son when he is old enough and taste the harvest of 1984. Any one already had this vintage?

Port Wine Cocktails

Hey whats up. Last weekend, I had the opportunity to serve 110 Port Wine Cocktails. I thought the winner of our 3 options would be the famous Portonic, but guess what? I also introduced a Espresso Mar-Tawny, and that was a winner! Not sure if you guys like to mix up your (lesser quality) port wines,...

FTR, I was born in 1931. And also in 1927.
Lol. I am from the unknown year of '84 myself. No luck there with the exception here and there.
But from what I remember, taylors 1970 was a good year to be born too.

I entered here under the name of Vinhodoporto, currently run by my old partner - Jasper.
I was the co-owner of www.vinhodoporto.nl from 2013-2016. I believe that account is now used by Jasper.

Hello from another Port Wine Geek

Hi Guys, I've been active on the platform since 2013 under another name and wanted to re-introduce myself - Ruud Scholten - as a fellow portwine lover and enthusiast. As I previously ran a specialized port wine e-commerce company in The Netherlands, my love for port wine has never been anything less...
