Re: '45 Warre at State Banquet
I read the implication of the '45 Warre could've been to commemorate 80 years since the war or in recognition of his 45th presidency. I tend to think it would've been the former. I assume each wine served is poured for each attendee whether they like it or even drink. Other wines served that evening...

'45 Warre at State Banquet
At the UK state banquet hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla for President Donald Trump at Windsor Castle, 1945 Warre vintage port was served.

Serious line up. They're all into port? Moses, none of them are serious Port drinkers or collectors; however they really enjoy what I bring every year. They're also getting very good Ports, so that probably augments their enjoyment. I may have to slip an LBV tasting in one night to see what they th...

What does pão de queijo look like? Is it literally bread made with cheese in it? Yes, it's a ball of bread with cheese and has tapioca flour mixed in. A lot of people buy them frozen and heat at home if the bakery is not convenient. https://www.vindulge.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Pao-de-Queijo....

'80 is a great sleeper vintage. '83 and '85 are great values.

We are lucky locally living in a 30%+ Brazilian community. Nata's are made daily at many stores.
We usually go for pão de queijo's instead. Just as good with port.

I use cheese cloth and re use the same piece for wine and port. Rinsing and air-drying in-between.
Ironic as my wife works at a fabric store and we have like 10+ yards of cheese cloth at a minimum.

1931 Noval
1945 Croft
1948 Fonseca
1955 Grahams
Was tough to keep it to 5, but I think I would say the same ports if you asked me a month from now.
Odd that I mentioned Grahams when I am now more a fan of drier ports. Ferreira or Dow should be on that list somewhere too.

I've always had this wine, the 1987 Vargellas, and the 1985 Graham as my top 3 from the 1980s. It's a fabulous wine and will likely out-live all of us. I'd swap the '83 Graham's for the '85 Graham's, but you can't go wrong with either. I'd also throw the '86 Graham's Malvedos into the mix. I'd rank...

On "Fox and Friends" this morning there was a segment on wines for Halloween. All of the wines promoted were from Portugal including Sandeman 10 year tawny. Others included Papa Figo white and Mateus Rose among others.
