I read the implication of the '45 Warre could've been to commemorate 80 years since the war or in recognition of his 45th presidency. I tend to think it would've been the former. I assume each wine served is poured for each attendee whether they like it or even drink. Other wines served that evening...

What does pão de queijo look like? Is it literally bread made with cheese in it? Yes, it's a ball of bread with cheese and has tapioca flour mixed in. Just about anything from '63, '66, or '70.

'80 is a great sleeper vintage. '83 and '85 are great values.

We are lucky locally living in a 30%+ Brazilian community. Nata's are made daily at many stores.

We usually go for pão de queijo's instead. Just as good with port.

I know I have magnum, not sure if I have any 750's of G77. I am generally a fan of their ports. Their style is big and powerful.

I use cheese cloth and re use the same piece for wine and port. Rinsing and air-drying in-between.

Ironic as my wife works at a fabric store and we have like 10+ yards of cheese cloth at a minimum.

Blackett I put in the same category as Maynard; a good value tawny brand. They taste older than the indication on the label.

Was tough to keep it to 5, but I think I would say the same ports if you asked me a month from now.

Odd that I mentioned Grahams when I am now more a fan of drier ports. Ferreira or Dow should be on that list somewhere too.

I've always had this wine, the 1987 Vargellas, and the 1985 Graham as my top 3 from the 1980s. It's a fabulous wine and will likely out-live all of us. On "Fox and Friends" this morning there was a segment on wines for Halloween. All of the wines promoted were from Portugal including Sandeman 10 year tawny. Others included Papa Figo white and Mateus Rose among others.
