Re: Croft Pink Port

None of the pink port's should be compared with normal ports.
I personally find the Quevedo Pink Port much better. And yes, on a hot day I do like a glass of pink (same as I like a glass of white port or wine).

Re: Wishlist

http://www.berkeleywine.com/item.html?sku=11174 apparently feist declared 81 Thanks g-man. I've seen this one as well. However, it is the only Feist available on the market, I'm unsure if it is really a vintage and not a colheita, they only have 1 bottle available and they do not ship to Europe. No...

Re: Wishlist

1) I think a wish list is a great idea. 2) Sorry, I do not have any 1981 Port of any kind. It does seem rather rare. 3) My birth year is 1964, and I'm always interested in VP from that year. Or especially the 1964 Niepoort Garrafeira. A nice example: I purchased a few weeks ago a stock from someone...

Wishlist

Not sure if anyone started a "wishlist" thread before? With the entire community on :tpf: I am pretty sure that individuals might have a bottle that to them does not seem special yet it might be for others. In my example, I've been looking a while for a vintage from 1981 since this is my b...

If you have some time to make a stop, I can suggest the Bernardus Lodge in Carmel Valley.

Re: Summer offline in The Netherlands - 9 July 2010

I can provide:
1983 Fonseca
1986 Guimaraens
1995 Guimaraens

Considering that the 1986 is already provided and the 1995 was recently tasted be Chris Doty and considered WAY too young (viewtopic.php?p=33854) I suggest to bring the 1983 Fonseca.

Re: Favorite low to mid-priced vintage - what's yours?

I've been saving my Smith Woodhouse and have yet to crack the box open to even check it isn't a case of bricks :-) Must venture in there if it is good. The Sainsburys £10 offer that gets posted in here regularly is good the next day (awful on first opening) and I was enjoying Rabello Volente 83 unt...

Re: Noval Nacional 1931

They come up at auction or retail periodically. IMO, the problem is these tend to get bought and sold a number of times before they get opened, so one must be very careful about provence. There were a few up for sale recently that were listed as having signs of seepage, and IIRC, were about $6,000 ...

Re: 1935 Taylor

This wine is flipping crazy. Obviously very light, but with a brown sugary syrupy character. This is like a tallish thinish girl with long dark hair, covered in tattoos and with a few helpings of piercings. Not sure what to make of it exactly, but it sure is distinctive. The only thing I've had tha...

Noval Nacional 1931

I was always under the impression that these bottles are amongst the most rare and best ever! Yet, it seems someone on CellarTracker managed to purchase 5 only a few days ago: http://www.cellartracker.com/list.asp?Table=Inventory&iUserOverride=0&szSearch=nacional+1931 This makes me happy sin...

Hmmm...41% = 80 degrees proof. Be more interested to hear from someone who's tasted it! It had a tasting on 'The Wright Stuff" and the general consensus was that it was disgusting I've seen a documentary about these beers. It's actually a bit "easy" how they get to the extreme alcoho...

Re: Wine Spectator subscription

Did you ever consider an online subscription? It gives you access to the same articles and tasting notes. I use that, as a subscription to an alcohol related magazine is completely out of the question here. I did consider this and might take one if no printed alternative is available at reasonable ...
