I believe that all Vargellas 1965 was bottled in Porto, in 1968 - but I might be wrong... Further to this; the only non-Oporto bottling of any Taylor Vargellas of which I am aware are the '67 and '69 bottlings by BBR. Does anyone know of any other non-Oporto bottlings of any Taylor Vargellas vintag...

Re: What do you have most of?

Like 99% of the 1970s, it’s very good, moreover it can be picked up at the cheaper end of the scale perhaps £40-£50 a bottle and that’s principally the reason I have so many bottles of it – it’s sometimes too much of a bargain to pass on! Have values dropped again? I was looking regularly last year...

All of those Ports that I have a ready inventory of, I have over 30 bottles of the following: Cr70 D70 G77 SW77 T85 D94 W94 V97 That's a really nice selection, Ian. I've tried all of them (and they're all good) except for the Croft 1970. How is it? Like 99% of the 1970s, it’s very good, moreover it...

I’m probably being somewhat restrictive but for me the best of the 90s would consist of T 92 and F 92 with the rest of the lineup being made up of 94s! However, in the interests of a tasting a wider distribution is perhaps best.

This tasting went pretty much according to expectation eg the F and G are good and the N and Ni are not. Both the T and D were down on what they can be (although the D did improve over the course of the evening). Of the good that I don’t already own, would only consider adding the W, although the S ...

Allowing for GB railways delay (so, no change from SWR) eta just after 6.30pm. Therefore, please curb any over enthusiasm of the staff when it comes to the timing of the food!
