Re: 1982 Horizontal

September certainly works better for me as I’m away the last fortnight in August. Don’t have much from 82 although I do have a Calem Foz which is a nice drop of juice.

Re: Strawberry Fields Forever (Mon 1st July - Spot The Taylor Vertical)

A gloriously balmy tasting with the majority of ports showing very well. How I managed to make a clean sweep of the 63s and score 5 points overall, heaven only knows! A big thank you to Cliff for providing some fantastic bottles (and for Harry for the idea for the tasting). The jury is out as to whe...

Re: Strawberry Fields Forever (Mon 1st July - Spot The Taylor Vertical)

My (new) Standard order, please! Which I cannot find in the The Standard Food Order thread. Missing Ian, Gavin. Others believed correct: please verify that your entry in the food order is correct. It’s there as far as I can see ( the second pdf from Martin’s link to the standard food order but I wi...

Re: Strawberry Fields Forever (Mon 1st July - Spot The Taylor Vertical)

I am assuming that I do not need to double decant to the bottle I am bringing but can use another bottle for that purpose and thus negating the need to foil?

Re: 1977's - Tue 11th June 2024

I am listed as, and planning to bring both the Delaforce and Fonseca Panascal - Neither seem to have made it on to the draft place mats QH is on the place mats currently but no one is listed as bringing this (we have a BBR which is likely QH) do we want a QH? do we have room for one? if yes to both...

Re: 1977's - Tue 11th June 2024

Crikey, gird the loins for this tasting, as we are fast approaching the equivalent of two dozen bottles! And talking of tastings within tastings, if we had the Ni g ((which sadly I do not), then we would have another one…

Re: 1977's - Tue 11th June 2024

Has Martin done his spreadsheet wizardry and allocated who is bringing what? Yes the first post has been updated However I am not sure the placemats fully reflect this as there is a QH on the placemats but not on the bottle list and Alex is due to due to bring 'M' but this is not on the placemats Y...

Re: May 23rd, 2024 - LBV - The Young Turks

Tom, given the few drop outs we've had would it be ok to boost the numbers? I have a friend or two who aren't members here who may well be very interested in joining us for this event. Absolutely - new faces very welcome Err…shouldn’t we go to the reserve list firstly-or has this been exhausted?

Re: Graham, Tue 14 May 2024

A great night and perhaps the most consistently good vertical I have attended. Two bottles – the 63 and 70 were below par but on the other hand the 75 and 83 were the two best examples of these wines that I have drunk. The 97 is also going in the right direction.
