1994 Martinez

60% opacity, red with hints and shades of brown. Nose has raisin, leather, tobacco. I wouldn’t say this was smooth in the mouth, still some unintegrated tannin, very gentle heat along the palate, chocolate, some plum. I think this needs quite some more time to even itself out and soften somewhat. Ev...

Many thanks to Harry for generously sharing 6 bottles with us, and superb organisation! Agree with Charles, great to have a range of lovely ports to taste.

Re: Wednesday 26 May 2021 – A Virtual Blind Tasting

I’m a possible - am in town on Wednesday, then need to get home to collect son from his cricket match which would mean joining at 8.30 at the earliest. Zoom is no problem though - can set that up regardless. Will explore further options now and report back ASAP.

I’d be interested to know if anyone has bought a case of Port which isn’t known to be bad and found them all to be contaminated?
I have 10 bottles each from cases of 12 of Dow 1983 and Dow 1985 which I suspect might all prove to be flawed. Some kind of bacterial thing, it is not TCA.

Re: RE: Re: 2021 Virtual Tasting #10 - Thurs 13th May - Quevedo Mixology Afters

Unfortunately I'm rather under the weather and won't be attending this evening's event. I look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts on the blending and partaking in the near future when the session is up on YouTube. Hope you feel better mate. Most important is that you have the bottles ready for ...

Alex - you likely may already have done, but could you pass on my/our thanks to Johnny, Jamie and Ben for hosting us last night. They were supremely generous with their time and I really enjoyed getting a lot of in-depth insight into the Churchill story, the philosophy for their winemaking, and lots...

It's looking like I won't now be able to make this Alex. Should become free around 9pm if the session is planned to continue once the "official" part is over. If you're still managing numbers, Wolfgang was on a waiting list and could be added?

2003 Kopke White Colheita

The BFT 2021 sample tasting

Clear golden yellow. Lemon and apricot on the nose. In the mouth, lively, with some heat, warm apricot with a slightly dry finish. Refreshing, with a long finish.
