 We could introduce some creativity to this! My train of thought: 1. You have clearly been very active in the last year. 2. Your current ranking goes only to 3000+ posts. 3. A few people are approaching that rank. 4. There is no apparrent contingency for future ranks. So my proposal: If you wa...

And now for a name for the boy. How about Graham? Sounds stylish doesn't it? ...or how about: Martin(ez) - 229th most popular in UK in 2007 Taylor - 88th Warre(n) - 208th Callum (Calem) - 22nd (A bit tenuous I know!) (Quarles) Harris - 367th (Gould) Campbell - 1056th Morgan - 93rd Robert(son...

Not quite sure what they would cost me now, but I vaguely recall buying them at Taylors in about 2003 (with my now wife) at something like £30 each. I doubt I would have spent more than that per bottle at that time. What would anyone recommend in terms of drinking - of a suitable age yet or need mor...

I opened a second bottle of this last night to share with my brother. He was in the UK for 5 days and Texas is not known as an outpost for Port! Again, for around £15 this did not disapoint. However, having returned to it tonight after about 27 hours in the decanter, I think it improves with time. I...

An exciting discovery...!

Was looking through my bottles today and discovered the 2 Taylors Quinta De Vargellas 1995's I have are the Vinha Velha. A totally different proposition I gather having read the TN here!

Depends how you see the time difference - working in your favour or against you! In your favour - 10pm means drinking at 5pm New York time and all us Brits will be done by midnight. Against you - you start at 5pm and drink for 7 hours minimum. The latter could of course also be construed as in your ...
Personally I think the younger Colheita's will age in bottle for some time. However, the really old ones arn't going to get much better at that point, so no reason to age them in bottle. But that is just my personal opinion...
What would you define as "really old ones...

I clearly recall the thread discussing the need to properly clean your decanter before pouring the precious liquid in. Of course you cannot help a little wastage in that process!

How about you rinse the decanter with the Warre's Warrior (and perhaps drink a little) then decant the Graham's and drink that.

Everyones a winner!

When you do anything against the laws such as no ball or a wide.

You can read the laws of the game at http://www.lords.org if you are really interested!

There are a number of possible responses to that question! "chucks" - chucking or throwing is illegal. No ball. Penalty run to batting side. Very controversial. See Darrell Hair and Muttiah Muralitheran. "too far" - could be wide of the batsman. In which case, depending on form o...

Anyone have any ideas of what the government will tax if they succeed in turning us into a nation of snivelling, unit counting, anaemic wimps who no longer pay their unfair share of excise duty and VAT? + I have no idea! If the scores are equal and the side batting second has completed its innings, it is a tie. If the scores are equal and the side batting second has not completed its innings, it is a draw. Confirmation of this point is available from the lawmakes of the game - the MCC! http://www.lords.org/laws-and-...

There is another perspective: cricket is part of our heritage. Port is part of our heritage. The two are intrinsically linked!
