Re: Port and literature

Well well. Who could have expected that we'd arrive here so soon - only a page and a half remains and it makes no sense to leave half the final exposition until tomorrow so here you are, the end of the road and a dose and a half of goodness. Enjoy it. It's been fun. Soyez soin. A bientôt. https://up...

Re: One quiz at a time

Yes. Alex's turn. Rather nice here in The Dominican. But not looking forward to the day-long meeting tomorrow in which 6 people try to finish filling in a European Commission funding application for €5m.

Note to self: don't get taxis from the airport in future.

Brussels?

Any recommendations for good port in Brussels? I'm there from tomorrow and staying in a hotel where Alex's famous forebear used to live.

Re: One quiz at a time

This is a wild guess... 2 x Lagavulin 16, a Talisker 10 and an Aberlour 12 ?

It's just a guess to get us started.

Re: Alcohol and health

According to the Office for National Statistics in 2014 there were 245142 male deaths of which 3682 were due to prostate cancer; 3682/245142 is almost exactly 1.5%. We already established that the figure quoted was not a percentage of all male deaths, but of males in the UK. What kind of cancer did...

Not at all. I'm watching Jake Chapman speak some of the most intelligent sentences yet heard on BBC TV, while I make a bolognese.
