Re: Port for sale by retailer

I got everything I asked for from Harvey Nicks. Very happy. Were you the buyer of the 1940 Graham? If so, I am delighted it went to someone who will love the wine. Was there just one on offer? I thought Neil gave a nod and a wink on the 1940… and George filled up on some port as well as some fine U...

Have tasted it 3 times but not since 2018. My impression for what it is worth is that it is quite tannic and will last a long time… so 2053+ although I hope to enjoy one on my 80th in 2052 😃 🙏

Re: Voting now open - TPF awards ceremony - 7th February 2022

Reluctantly it looks like I need to bow out of this auspicious occasion. It was 50/50 but is now complicated by the landslide on the tracks in Basingstoke meaning no direct trains from Weymouth to London and a significant reduction in services. I hope the spot gets filled but if there is still space...

Some bottles for sale

Due to some bills and not being open for a while I need to liquidate some stock that I can’t justify holding onto to drink in the current climate. The prices are beneath the going rate but reflect what I need to try and get to make it a worth while exercise. Not sure if there will be any interest fr...

Provisionally yes please. Have no magnums so will need to contribute either a bottle or funds. Need to check which dates in Feb I can definitely do and hope they align with what the RMT allows!

I have been hoping beyond hope that there may have been some changing of the strike situation this week, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. So, unless there is an about turn I will sadly not be able to make it. I very much hope there are enough people to make it happen. My best to Oscar and you a...

I am looking at options to drive to London and stay over, but need some time to see what is possible. If I can’t get there by car and the strike goes ahead I would have to drop out which would be most disappointing.

Re: Port for sale by retailer

Aldi UK have started sticking their Fletchers Christmas Port too. The 40YO is £39.99 this year. Be careful though as they seem to be trying to get rid of the standard bottles they had last Christmas bottled in 2021 but also some bottles in the old ‘decanter’ style that are freshly bottled in 2022. Welcome Michael. I shall look forward to meeting you at the Quevedo tasting next month. Btw… don’t let the Maths put you off.
