We discussed this briefly last night: https://andrerib.co/2020/12/21/hot-100- ... ese-wines/ and I thought it was quite an interesting list. Apparently it is wines that have recently been released, hence no old VPs. There are lots of interesting suggestions of table wines, including many quite affordable ones, but the Ports he suggests are as follows:

2: Kopke 40 YO White
3: 1963 Graham Colheita
4: Kranemann 20 YO Tawny
11: Taylor 1970 Colheita
21: 2018 Vesuvio
29: 2018 Ferreira
35: 1960 Kopke Colheita
40: 1989 Dalva White Colheita
42: 2018 Noval
44: 2018 Fonseca Guimaraes
80: Dalva “Pure” Tawny Reserve

A bit of a young-VP and wood-aged bias, I think! We have a bottle of the Kranemann 20YO which I am interested to try to compare to the Taylor 1970. I am also interested in trying the Dalva “Pure” Tawny Reserve, too.

I do know Andre very well. He is a great guy and a fantastic promoter for Portuguese wines.

However we should have invited him more to Portforum tastings as this would have changed his list quite a bit, I blieve.

Happy new year to all

I haven’t met him but he seems like a great chap from what he posts online.

I think his list probably reflects what is on offer in Portugal which is somewhat different to other parts of Europe; although I was rather surprised about the complete lack of LBVs!
