I would not be suprised if they have been standing there for over 3 years but guess that with such a young port and our cool climate this should not be be major issue.

Maybe worthwhile to visit some Gall & Gall's in your area.

Hi Dries,

Thanks for the tip! Will keep an eye out (especially with their 'wild wine / crazy wine' days offers as you say)!

I've been lucky enouhg to be able to aquire some of my (older) wishlist VP's, zo I guess I can shorten my list somewhat now :D

Being a 93' vintage, I would love any 1993 Port (any kind - for a reasonable price). Thank you for those who find a good price.

Resurrecting this thread, there was mention of 1985 Fonseca for ~£400 a case on tonight's virtual tasting, and I would be interested in acquiring this port at around this price point (and any other 80's ports in this bracket!).

Farr Vintners currently has it available in London, but it's a little over that price range (9 liter case of 12 bottles).

It was 400 for a case of six! In which case the Farr Vintners price is market rate. You can occasionally snag the minor 83s and 85s for 400/dozen all in at auction though.

Ah, I misheard what you said - I did think that sounded like a bargain. £400 for 6 is more in the ballpark of what I've seen online, so that's helpful to know those prices are in the range of what I can expect. I have put in an order with Seckfords for a dozen of 2000 Warre and 1997 Dow which come to an average of £40 a bottle inc VAT/duty/delivery. I'm still on the look out for the 80s though!

I agree. £400 retail for 6bts of F85 is pretty much the going rate.

BI had some ex+Oporto stock last year at £320/6bt IB, which is about the same all in.
