To DRT/JacobH,

A scanned version of "Oporto Old and New" is available free online from from the internet archive here, either viewable online in browser or downloadable as 20M pdf, if that might meet either of your needs (I realise it may not if higher-quality scans of the illustrations are wanted).

Thanks, Phil.

I already have the scanned copy and a print-on-demand paperback copy of the book but I feel the need to own an original, which is very hard to find.

Thanks for the information anyway, which was very helpful of you.

Thanks, Phil. The problem with that copy, from my point-of-view, is that the photos aren’t of a high-enough quality to reprint them, which is what I would like to do. Although if you are happy to just to read it then the digitalised version is great.

I may have mentioned this before, but I notice the Cambridge University Library has a copy and is running a trial on allowing cameras into its Rare Books room, so perhaps that might a way which I could take some good pictures of it.

I’m glad we seem to be doing quite well, even if most purchases are found by the person purchasing them!

MSRP in the UK was £250, or £210 in bond. At the time, that was $350-ish which I felt was rather high.

It appears to be sold out now, and there's no trace of it at all on winesearcher.com.
