1965 Fonseca Guimaraens Vintage Port

Post by StuartDG »

Hello Port Forum members,

I have a bottle of 1965 Fonseca Guimaraens Vintage Port that might go nicely with the Stilton after Christmas lunch...

The bottle came from from the cellar of the late British television producer, documentary filmmaker, journalist, and television executive Desmond Wilcox (1931–2000). Currently stored in Mayfair, London.

Not a widely declared Port vintage, sandwiched between the much superior 1963 and 1966, and until I found this bottle I didn’t know that Fonseca made any vintage wine in 1965.

Fonseca Guimaraens is the “second wine” of Fonseca. The best vintage Ports made by them are labelled simply as “Fonseca”.

I have filmed myself talking about it: https://ardenfinewines.com/2019/12/17/w ... tage-port/

If it's of interest to anybody then please message me, thanks.

Stuart George

Hi Stuart,

I have just placed an order for this bottle via your website.

A very interesting bottle for a 1965 baby like me to own and enjoy on a future birthday 88)
