Prime assortment for sale, auction or just a good home

Post by Crossbill »

Dear Port Lovers

Happy New Year!

My father-in-law can no longer indulge in the pleasures of his cellar so he has been off-loading the contents onto us. It is definitely a first world problem.

I hesitate to admit this, but Port does not agree with me at all - makes my heart race and keeps me awake. So I am stuck with the bottles in the pictures attached, and am seeking a good home for them.

I cannot guarantee their condition - they will have been kept carefully but not necessarily in a temperature controlled environment. But the cork and seals are intact and the levels are good.

Does anyone want to make me an offer? Or help me find them a good home? Or if I am going to hang onto to a couple of them, which ones should they be?

I live and work in Central London.

Thanks in advance for your help

I might have some interest — and work in central London, simplifying delivery.

Please, how many are there of each?

I think the pictures show all of the bottles. The first is the whole batch, subsequent pictures showing the individual rows of three.

I have interest in this as I have no 80s port and I'm looking to acquire some. Happy to split with others if they are interested.

I have no skin in the game living across the pond. May I just add to those interested. Unwritten rule of wine forums is to not get into bidding war with other members. Never turns out well in the very small world of wine people on forums.

Generally first reply gets first shot. Or Perhaps email each other for one to buy and others to split or other arraignments as deemed appropriate. YMMV
