30% opacity, red-brown. Sharp entry, heat early, good structure, extracted flavours - dried fruit.

Re: 1966 Dow
Mature brick red, 30% opaque. Dusty nose with slightly harsh fruit, rather limited in volume. A lovely texture on the palate, full and rich with powerful acidity supporting spiced Christmas cake. A wonderful aftertaste; huge, spiced with bitter sloe and green apples and which leads to a massive finish. An amazing palate and finish but let down a little by the restrained nose. 94
Top Ports in 2022: Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port. I cried with joy.
2023: Fonseca 1966. There are not many better Ports, except a good bottle of Fonseca 1927. Wow!
