Re: 1962 Dow LBV
Bottled 1966. Very slightly darker than the Warre 1962 LBV shown alongside. Slightly oxidised on the nose with a hint of birch sap. Redcurrant and cranberries show initially on the palate, but the palate is very dry and is dominated by sour cherries - very light and fragrant. A pleasant and delicate aftertaste which lingers well but this is a port well past its best and declining slowly. 85/100.
Top Ports in 2022: Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port. I cried with joy.
2023: Fonseca 1966. There are not many better Ports.
