First bottle of VP I've opened in a while and not a bad choice. Only give a three hour decant (suspect it would have benefitted from a little more). 40% or so opaque (certainly lighter than the 1980 equivalent), a little musty on the nose (probably as a result of the shorter decant) but this is a lovely approaching maturity VP with soft fruits and still with that distinctly GC cherry on the finish. Given the discussion elsewhere, if you can pick up a case of this for around £400 then I think that would be a reasonable result.
