2015 Quinta do Crasto LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

The label states this was bottled unfiltered at the Quinta in 2019. Deep red, slightly black tone to the colour; medium rim and an opaque centre. Rock rose and floral perfume on the nose; sweet bramble fruit on entry with a delicious cooked pastry to the mid-palate. The late palate sees this wine explode with flavour - big tannins emerge from the bramble fruit and a wonderful floral perfume pervades the whole - so complex but without sacrificing any of the boldness and size of the wine. The aftertaste and finish just highlight the multiple layers this wine delivers in terms of flavour and structure. Amazing! 92/100. Tasted 10-Apr-21.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
