1974 Graham Single Harvest Tawny (bottled 2021)

Post by jdaw1 »

1974 Graham colheita, from a 5cl supplied by Vintage Wine and Port (• planning, • placemats, • Symington presentation). Tasted eight days after the official event. TNs: 1994; 1990; 1982; 1974; 1963.

Nose showing green and herbaceous. Another soft colheita, but richer than the 1990 and 1982. Menthol in the palate, and blood orange, nonetheless bright and refreshing, acidity mid to late, in lovely balance. Ending long, but not as full-weighted at the 1994. At the end of the ending the acidity becomes increasingly dominant.

Twenty days later: sweet cut grass, brightness in the palate which seems like spearmint, mid-weight early, but rounded and fuller late palate.
