2005 Barros Colheita (bottled 2021)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2021. Very lightly pigmented, a pale copper colour; 10% opaque. Warm honey on the nose, with a little fresh ginger root mixed in. Nice texture, sweet honey and ginger on the palate with a very nice green aromatic herb note. Sweet, slightly candied, palate with a good intense jellied fruit character which runs through the palate and into the aftertaste. Long finish. Nice, fruity, but slightly too confectioned to be great. 86/100. Tasted 10-Apr-21.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
