2003 Sandeman Vau

Enjoyed at the beautiful Heritage B&B, Weymouth.

Unsure on decant time.

Dark red in glass with 90% opacity. Deep black forest fruits on the nose. Big. Beautiful.

In the mouth, it grips, just in a slightly odd manner ("I'm being hit from different sides and I don't know how to process that"). Added on top of this, fairly spicy and quite jammy.

Initial taste of highly sweet cherries and medicinal strawberry? This very quickly disappears to leave lingering chocolate.

The balance for this seems a bit all over the place but would love to check in 10 years. The fundamentals are there for something good.
