NV Churchill Tawny 20YO (bottled 2019)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2019. Orange rim and a red core; 30% opaque. Sweet apples and soft pears on the nose Slightly thicker in texture than many 20 year old tawnies. Still showing a little red fruit on the palate, a palate which has a nice intensity of flavour. Good balance to the wine with some cinder toffee tones coming through on the late palate. Lots of jellied red fruit on the aftertaste and long finish. Well balanced and full of fruit, this is a distinctive style of 20 year old tawny which works well. 88/100. Drunk 10-Apr-21.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
