1992 Quinta do Vesuvio

Post by winesecretary »

An 'I know I'll like this' port opened to celebrate the beginning of my summer staycation.

18 hour decant.

Violets on the nose with some prune and dried herbs.

On the palate black cherries succeeded by poached plums.

A dark chocolate moelleux finish, then gentle warm spice.

I like this.

It's hard to go wrong with a Port from Vesuvio (apart from 1989-1991, and even they are "interesting").
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
