1945 Croft

Opened at 13.00 and drunk at 22.00. Cellared by the Palmer brewing family of Bridport. A rich, mature red-brown colour; 50% opaque. Restrained nose of cooked cherry. Wonderful entry, such a glorious combination of texture and flavour. A flood of cherry, a wave of All Spice, every flavour subtly intermingled to give amazing complexity. Such a fabulous mouthful! A warm aftertaste leads to a delicious bruised apple and caramel finish, long and lingering. Wine of the night with 13 points out of a possible 15. 92/100. Drunk with friends at the George of Stamford on 08-Jul-21.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
