1970 Warre

Post by jdaw1 »

We noted the impressive 350th Anniversary of Warre, with a vertical alas not covering the entirety of its history, as arranged by Neil.

One of a number of bottles of Warre 70 purchased via wineowners.com in May 2018.
Assumed to be Oporto bottled as nothing to indicate otherwise.
Opened and double-decanted (using a funnel with a fine metal mesh) back into the original bottle at 0630ish on the morning of the tasting.
No obvious seepage and cork came out OK. Level base of neck. Fairly heavy sediment (but much less than the 63). QA sip was fine.

Very dark. Young and fresh and cool and vigorous violet-scented port. Delicious.
