NV Graham Crusted 2013

Post by rich_n »

Failed to take my usual QC check (or at least note down what I found!).

+7 hours - strawberry sweetness on the nose with a touch of tobacco and peppery notes. Red fruits dominate the palate with strawberry bringing the sweeter notes and some sour red cherries leaning the other way. Eucalyptus and peppery notes in the mid-palate with a dry finish. Some toffee and liquorice appeared midway through the first glass.

I had this over several days but failed to take further notes. Fortunately there are further bottles to explore, and I will aim to be more thorough in the future. What I did note is that this is less exuberant than the Dow Crusted I had recently but it seems fresher and maybe more refined. A good crusted port, which I'm finding to be a generally underrated style.
