Re: 1977 Dow vintage port
Lamont:
1977 (1+hrs)
Med/light burgundy color. The nose had a woody/medicinal edge too it that detracted a bit from the red fruit, fudge and dried peel that was also there. Lightish-bodied palate with a creamy texture and raisiny fruit. Has good balance and a subtle, peppery, medium-long finish. Very good. 92 pts

Re: 1977 Dow vintage port
Dark reddish brown, lighter then the t70
Dusty red strawberries on the nose
It's got a weird VA like bitterness on the palate
Tangy raisins coat the mouth with a touch of heat on the top of the mouth (nasopharynx)
blends with a strong woodiness. The fruits were hard to tell on this one but it has a nice mouth feel.
It gives a spicy woody finish.
I thought this bottle was off.
