On 26 November the World of Port meets in Leverkusen, Germany again to taste the new Vintage Port years.
Taste more than 100 Ports from the special category and increase your Port knowledge by interacting with the producers, winemakers or their importers.

We will certainly adhere to all current safety regulations at the time, so please SAFE the date: 26 November 2021.

From 1130 Sogrape's top enologist Luis Sottomayor will host a Master Class for some 50 invited Professionals.

From 1300 we have 3 hours of tasting reserved only for Professionals with admission only with registration at info@worldofport.de

From 1600 the fare will be OPEN TO THE PUBLIC for another three hours. More information:

Given the proximity of this event to my brother's family, I'm interested in attending (he's based in Pulheim). There seems to be limited information on the website, but I'll certainly keep an eye on this thread.

More than welcome, but do not plan to go there by car afterwards as we will have a common dinner after the Fair with the producers.

I'm starting to think about solidifying plans for this if it's still likely to go ahead. Has any decision been made yet or is it still too far ahead to know?

Well, so far we are planning to GO. Maybe we have to alter the procedures a bit. I wrote to the producers very recently and received many responses already. Confraria Ports are already there...

I am pretty sure I will allow attendance only to those tested, vaccinated or recovering from a Covid infection within the last 6 monts (that is the present reg in Germany). This is to avoit unneccessary infections and discussions

Hopefully we (my wife and I) will be able to attend again, since the 2018 event was our last!

Where can you:

- taste almost all Vintage Ports from 2018 and 2019 (and many 2017s as well)?
- taste a 70y old Tawny Port and learn that this might be a new category soon?
- taste more than 50 year old Vintage Ports in a specially selected Masterclass?
- have a small vertical tasting of the rare Confraria Vintage Ports?
- have a chat with the producer and/or importer in a rather familiar atmosphere?
- taste a more than 30y old Garrafeira directly from the hand of the Producer?

I wish I could be there to join you Axel! Maybe I can get to the 2022 event as part of my 50th Celebrations! I will start laying the groundwork to get approval for this wonderful idea. As for this year… I hope all goes well and the port is as wonderful as it sounds. Enjoy!
