Updated draft of the placemats.
  • +Paul S.
  • Do people like the extra question, on the vote-recorder sheets, ‟Least Liked For Drinking Now”?
  • Weird bug not understood, but I have found a change that ought to make no difference that repairs the apparent problem. (It can also be fixed by changing SW to SZ; by distilling with Preview or Ghostscript; but not by changing typefaces. Perhaps Adobe has a special problem with the string (SW).)
  • Pre-pour sheets not quite in optimal order. Methinks not worth fixing both in programmer time, and in adding more lines of parameters.

Highly unlikely, otherwise lots of London post codes and compass references would have highlighted the problem before now.

With a double-nested PostScript form, each doing scaling, with moveto’s immediately before and after, and lots of other details? Note that the string is, not contains, (SW).

It’s a terrible hypothesis, except that I don’t have a better one that fits the available data. :-(

I’m afraid that work makes it look like I won’t be able to commit to this sort of tasting. Sorry. I think jdaw1 is first on the reserve list and is entitled to my place.

No problem - both members of reserve list are currently unable to attend but will remain on the reserve list until they definitively rule themselves out!

So folks, got room for 1 more, + a non-drinker? Wife and I are busy looking for package-trips to London. I have GC80, GC85, SWC77, 83, 85, 91, 94. Will know in a few hours if we are coming for sure (vs paris) but certainly a tasting with available seating is a factor :)

Yay! This is real. We'll be in town Nov 12th-19th. Looking forward to finally meeting the London TPFers. I need to visit the infamous crusting pipe too.

Excellent news, glad you could make it over!
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Hi Rob,

bad news I am afraid; Enrico cannot make it due to a hopsital appointment. Please take him off for this tasting.

regards
