NV Casa Santa Eufemia Old White (bottled 2016)

Served by the glass at Taberna, Spitalfields Market. Bottled in 2016. From the 1973 vintage.

Dark orange colour, 20% opaque, but with a hint of greening on the rim. Soft caramel on the nose, with a strong twist of singed orange peel. Smooth entry, full of acidity that brings powerful focus to the orange and lemon flavours. Mouth filling and huge in flavour. Massive aftertaste of burnt oranges with burnt sugar and a never-ending finish. Superb and huge. Drunk 10 Sep 2016. 94/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
